We've had a minor bout of sickness in the Clews household. First our helper, Santhi, developed a bit of a winter cold, then a couple of days later Yeda too. Santhi is better now, with Yeda slowly recovering.
While they're not terribly ill as such, we must safeguard Selina from catching anything. Good news so far is that she hasn't but any sign of fever means she's back into hospital.
When we last wrote we were at the start of a mammoth pill marathon. Incredibly, Selina has now taken 211 tablets (in addition to 26 syringes of precautionary antibiotics) in the past month, willingly and cooperatively taking them all (even when we wake her at midnight each night for one of them).
Side effects have been mild and manageable, limited only to her appetite and body getting bigger due to steroids. For this we give great thanks!
Tomorrow is the first day of 'reinduction' (not too different to recent weeks but a couple of doses more of iv chemo), so possible her blood counts will drop (they have been reassuringly robust the past month or so).
It's Selina's birthday on Sunday, so it's going to be a rather low key affair at home this year since doctors advise no visitors at all. But we will be giving thanks for her this year in a way we never have before and never expected to.
